Hi folks,
Just got back from UK on Friday after a month of family time, medicals and our embassy interview! Wanted to let you all know that we were approved and happily back in the US!!
Congrats on the latest admin wins and movements in campaigns/projects. I wanted to say a huge thank you but not farewell to the many kind folks who kept my spirits high in the short time I have been with IV:
abhijitp, needhelp, digital2k, paskal, gsc999, waiting4gc, pappu, chanduv23, santb1975, nolaindian32, walking dude, ja1hind, logiclife and many more. All of you rock and America is very lucky to have such genuine and brilliant people like you. I wish you the very best for your own journey.
I will be around for sure, just have to concentrate on securing some work and life for a bit, finally!

I did think about doing it this way, but it didn't feel the "right thing to do"...
I spoke to my lawyer on what to do , but I'm not getting a straight answer.
Do you guys recommend a lawyer that would be able to help?
I checked Murthy.com and she asks for $250/20min of consultation... Is she that good? Should I consider calling her?
I did consult Murthy....she is good and will give you better solution....few of my friends used her law firm and resolved few complex queries....I have heard from my friend she is very good at document preparartion for real complex problems...
My suggestion is, better go to her office if you are in tri-state area....if you use her service then she will waive $250 in legal fee....

There is lot of misunderstanding. As i mentioned my H1 extension was denied on 31st march
Then i worked out with a lawyer for my options. She said i can get H1 transfer. I filed H1 transfer premium processing on april 6th with new employer(american company).It was approved on 13th and we received it on april 16th.

What is this fight all about ??? eb3-->eb2 ... or spillover??? changing any/both of them will not solve underlying problem.. Grow up people
why not go for real problem??? if you want to ask congress/administration, ask for some real solutions which will help everyone. To name a few...
1. Capture lost Visa numbers
2. Get rid of country quota.. how does this country based quota makes sense in EB Category??

This EB3I talk abt spill over stuff will not only help them but will also bring EB2I in to the same boat(infact Eb2I is also in bad shape with or without spill over).

The 45 member New Democrat Coalition supports the main tenets of high skilled immigration. In fact, recently a group of 16 House Democrats sent a letter to Hastert and Pelosi about this matter.

It's nice to see many ppl going to Mexico and getting renewals....I have my renewal coming up next year and this seems to be a good idea. Saves the hassle of travelling to India and getting stamping.

If your EAD applications are pending more than 90 days and you need ombudsman's assistance, the following steps should be take:
Step 1: Call USCIS National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-(800) 375-5283 and record the time/date of the call and the name/number of the customer service representative: Explain to the customer service representative that your EAD has been pending more than 90 days and ask for a �service request.� You should receive a response to your service request within a week.
OR Ask the customer service representative to request an interim card for you. You should receive an EAD or response within a week.

Until they say is open again, it is still closed.
I don't think they will say that until 2 weeks have passed and they put out all I-140's they had in premium processing...

RD is also not a reliable predictor since there are people who have been approved who applied for AOS in July 2007 while those who had applied prior to this are still waiting to see the light.

We have already set up/met with Reichert, Murray and McDermott. Pls help in setting up appointments with the others. You may have to leave a couple of voicemails before they get back to you: refer 1st para of the letter below.(total 30 secs/per voicemail ). Remember, they are very open to listeneing to you...you are teh future vote bank :)
The congressman to whose district you do not belong will not entertain any requests. You guys have to contact your local congressmen

Please also note that there are more than 350,000 Labor applications pending at the Labor department to be processed. Some of them are as old as from year 2000. Subsequent to rigorous but unfruitful recruitment efforts by our employers and other processing stages by USCIS, we still have to face prolonged wait times. It is also to be noted that most of us are already working in the U.S. for the past 5-6 years and are contributing to the U.S. economy in the form of taxes etc - some of which we do not derive any benefit from. This also hurts the businesses in your constituency like my employer because they have to wait indefinitely to hire talented applicants on a permanent basis. This is a very important issue and will determine whether the United States of America remains competitive in the fields of science and technology and retains the best talent from around the world.
ImmigrationVoice is a nonprofit organization comprised of volunteers who are suffering due to these delays and wish to bring this important issue in front of their lawmakers. I will appreciate your comments on my situation. I also have approved I-140 from TX and my company may ask me to move to NY/NJ for another project.
I also have one LC from MN pending in DBEC. Can I move to NY or do I have to go thru the PERM again?

Yes I always thought DV lottery was a scam which does nothing to increase diversity.
Yearly 50,000 lottery winners without any skill requirements get a GC, Also only about 50,000 high skilled immigrants with their family get a GC.
great so these two are equally important, lottery and high skills.
Of course maybe EB2 and EB3 got their degrees and US jobs by luck and gambling without any skills.
Life is also always about both skills and luck
so it makes sense there should be a 50,000 Green card lottery too.
