Im really not sure if this helps EB3 cases. for example in my case i have a bachelors degree + 10 years expereince and stuck in EB3. I dont think this will help me because I dont have an US degree.

Madam Rice is trying to divert the issue by telling skilled professional from all over the world wants to come here....This is not the issue.....
Issue is there are thousands of high skilled professional with approved labor and I-140 , waiting for years to file I-485.... DOS told then on 13th June that you all can file I-485 and all of the sudden on 2nd July 07 DOS said we can't accept your application...
So madam secretary it's not issue of how many high skilled professional wants to come here. Infact DOS/USCIS/Govt. of US need to think how life is tough for those high skilled professional who already came here and waiting for years to get green card through legal system....

EB-3 porting to EB-2 is ging to slow down EB-2. Everybody is fighting over this, btu has anybody tried to find actual number associated with porting? Mr. O said "thousand"..well..how many..4000, 5000, 10,000......all the calculation done on another thread already have accounted for about 6000 porting, per year..
Remember folks, these days companies are shying away from immigration related stuff, so for an EB-3 individual to be able to file in EB2 is not as easy as it sounds. I personally know 4 guys, one IT and 3 non-IT, whose companies have simply refused to entertain any request for upgrading the EB category.

I could convince 3 of my colleagues who are READY RIGHT NOW to contribute $1000.00 each. I can do $500.00.
But they asked me just one question. What is the action plan that IV is collecting these monies from prospective immigrants who are already in pain due to this economy and all that. I did tell them about July 07, flower campaign, but they are not willing to listen. They said they did not contribute at that time due to some reasons, but they now want to contribute big way. They have a much bigger friend's circle than mine who are also doing good from top schools who may contribute too. They may also register in IV soon.
But their only question is "What is the action plan for FUTURE". Can you please help.
I am confused myself with the same question, no offense. Like me, they wouldnt wait and wait forever for things to happen. We Strongly believe in any action towards goals. Trust me, we need lots of money, but the way they responded made me feel uncomfortable.
Yeah! Its common sense dude! Lets keep the 50USD in pocket when one has job rather than contributing to a cause that might help keep the job or makes voice heard when a bad bill comes out.. Choice is yours and your friends. If you/your friends are expecting a GC because you paid 50$ towards this effort, I dont know what to tell. If you/your freinds are expecting to hold xyz accountable for every single penny of the donation, that is not the attitude that will bring US together.
Ask your friends to understand the word lobbying and advocacy efforts. How much work it takes to hire a firm and get strategic advise? How much a firm that advises strategically and positions the issue strategically charges per hr? If an IT consultant is charged at the rate of 100-200USD by a big consulting company, Imagine how much would a consultant such as these people on the hill charge? I dont know but I wont be surprised if its north of 500USD an hr.
With out IV, The only two things folks on the hill knew were illegal immigration and H1B visa. Now more than 75% offices know the EB issue inside out and have a position on it. This is an effort that needs to be continued until we get a solution.

I filed on july 7th and still waiting.
My case little different, my 485 pending at Nebraska and I mailed EAD renewal at Texas (because I live in PA, per instructions in form).
Do you think my EAD will get stuck because of this? I hope I did right thing.

A note to my fellow IV members - I am not after the $42/Hr job. Good luck in finding a US citizen to do this job. I was wrong about EEO, it is actually IRCA which prohibits discrimination in recruitment and hiring.

We have to correct the misinformation spread by anti-immigrant groups that most jobs are "reserved for H1Bs", while the reality is different. Most jobs are "reserved" for American workers (although such reservation is illegal under IRCA). We have to provide the proof that the myth of "thousands of jobs reserved for foreign workers" in nothing but a myth. My posting is a small step in that direction.
Here is another one in the continuing series of exposing the highly prevalent illegal hiring practice. I request everyone to start posting similar job-ads you get from recruiters. Once we get a hundred or more ads here, we can start E-mailing the links to the media.

vivek - I have come across this company. It is a desi consulting company. The "Reqruiter" name seems to be a "nickname". Looks like they are doing these things so that they do not fall under the radar and hence such blatent statements "Only US Citizen".
If we all remember there was another post on dice which said "No Indians" and was discussed a lot on IV and finally the reqruiter got fired.
Looks like desi companies are trying to seek a new identity so that they do not fall under the radar

For my husband, even though it said card production ordered, the tier 1 customer service said that it was still pending.
But still he got his card, then only after a few days, the cust service also said the same status..

I do not think transfer matters. Mine was filed directly with TSC because my lawyers reason: my I-140 was approved from there.

I am guessing that we will probably receive similar response as posted by sweet_jungle that they are waiting for local ASC. I don't think we will receive FP after notice 30 days but this kind of response. Maybe local ASC are scheduling peoples appointment based on their name check results. Otherwise why would people who applied on last day of filing , Aug 16,2007 receive FP notice from my local ASC and not me.

Apahilaj, I have this idea. Is there a way we can reach an IO who is not associated with TSC but can give the same information. Maybe an IO of NSC/CSC.

What happened to EB3-I, call to action ? I sent out the letters ,but what is the follow-up ? Looks like everyone is interested only in EB2 India and nobody is doing anything about EB3-India.

So both you and the other guy "qasleuth" have decided not to present any real reasons or arguments to support why I should not advise people to be ethically and morally responsible, but instead go after me to prove that I am somehow also morally corrupt like you guys are.
You want to bring in refugees from Siberia or where ever into this discussion just to dilute the real topic of the thread. You are no better than any politician for that matter.
That "qasleuth" has also not answered my question as to where and when I claimed that I am trying to pretend I have better standards than the next person on this forum or anywhere.
Since the two of you don't have answers to these questions of mine, I rest my case until that!
You have reading comprehension issues as well...if you get over yourself then you can comprehend things (let me be clear, I am referring here to my own posts and none of the other ones). You made your point on page 2 about the moral/ethical/legal perils of what the OP has done/proposing to do. You were fine with me. Continuously pointing out at other people as to how morally bankrupt they are (including your latest post) or how bad there comm skills are (written or otherwise) will certainly expose you to shots from others (like me). When you continuously point out others' morals then the presumption here is that you are squeaky clean. I pointed out, you are not. That is all. It does not mean, OPs post is morally/ethically/legally on the right side or I hold that opinion (actually I do not).

Receipt# is printed on check after it's cashed.
In my case, my employer asked me to make checks payable to employer (for attorney fees as well as filing fees) and they cut the check for USCIS and attorneys. I don't understand how it helps them but delays in my getting the receipt#. If they let me pay directly to USCIS, I could at least get the receipt#s. My I-485 was received at NSC on 06/04/2007 morning.
